MF 1010 electrical help? No Start mystery

Had a long time MF mechanic look at it and his experience is that the electrical path between where the battery is grounded and engine deteriorates with time.

My neg terminal is now grounded to the engine.

Cranks much stronger but not fast enough for a start. Starter getting very hot.

May have to return my new starter, I'll keep you posted

maybe missed it but still have not seen you post the voltage drop as one test earlier suggested.
w/o a 2 minute test with a voltmeter you are just hurting yourself.

looks like it was a bad replacement starter, DB Electric stepped up and shipped a replacement.

Started 3 days in row now with no heating at the starter.

I'll get back on if I jinxed myself
