Hey FWJ, you said in a previous post:

**************************** Start of Quote *****************
In a previous post, you said that you thought water could have entered the hydraulic sump/tranny because of a leaky shifter boot. That's ONE way in. (and probably the most common) Also, look at the rubber boot at the base of the MASTER CONTROL SPRING. That's under the seat, right where the 3-point top link attaches. They leak too.
*************************** End of Quote *******************

I ordered and received a set of three rubber boots, two for the shifters and one for the control spring. I cannot for the life of me see where this Master Control Spring boot goes. Can you post a pic so I can install it?

The shifter boots are of very high quality and installed easily. If I can get this third one in I should be water tight!

Thanks in advance old buddy!

Look where the three point top link attaches to the tractor. There's a "stirrup" looking piece with a large spring behind it. The spring is essentially under the seat. There's a shaft inside that spring. The boot seals where that shaft enters the lift cover. It's a bear to get at. I'll post a picture or two tomorrow showing you where a set screw is hidden that'll have to be loosened to get that stirrup out of the way. Gotta get warmed up right now. 27 degrees, snowing, already have 7" and calling for 9" to 12" MORE tonight. I've been out pushing snow off the driveway. I own THREE cab tractors and all three are at my sons place. Lotta good that does me, huh?

Howdy FWJ,
I'll be leaving on a 7 day mission trip with the youth from my church tomorrow so I won't be able to respond to your post. Thanks in advance for your help.

Going to help rebuild a burned out church up in Mound Bayou, Mississippi, about 10 hours from my place here in Texas. Bet I'll see lots of neat tractors between here and there.

If theirs cell phone service there I'll be able to check in with my wireless card, otherwise I'll check back here next Saturday.

Y'all try and stay warm. It snowed here yesterday harder than it has in years. So much for that global warming nonsense.

With kindest regards,
