Buy a good MF or Ford. Have neighbor who sells Chinese Tractors. You can get parts for the MF or Ford, and alot cheaper.

Hope the PTO fix lasts while you plan to own the tractor.
Why would it not last?

( The 90WT. will kill MF hydraulic pumps (in addition to making the 3-point lift work very sluggish) )

I would imagine so! Shouldn't the hydraulic oil be in the 10WT range?

20wt is fine to.. Look at UTF type fluids.

Probably the issue with the 90wt, is people remembering the old ferguson and ford N series units that had common sump tranny / diffy / hyds, and used about 5 gallons of 90wt mineral oil... Those units used a scotch yoke pump that had an imersed pickup on the belly mounted internally pto driven setup, and had a stout 2.85 gpm / 1500-1700 psi with engine at about 2000rpm.

I know that. Just suggesting that he widen his search pattern and consider other possibilities in his price range.

I don't need another tractor, but I'd love to have an MF135 diesel!

Well now I'm confused again!

Just realized that the "other" tractors I was lookig at (Yanmar, Mitsubishi, Zen-Noh, etc.) are USED! They are quality tractors but who knows how they were treated. The Massey dealer said the 135 was owned by one guy and I could talk to him if I wanted.

So, Chinese are out, and used Japanese (greys) and American are in.

Now my problem is which direction to go in. Since they're BOTH used I might as well go for the MF. There is a guy in town who can fix it, I don't know where I could get a Japanese tractor fixed.

Tough decision for a glorified lawnmower!
