Mf 135 starting problem

Had a couple of 135s myself, though with a different diesel engine. White smoke, too much oil ... Looks like a blown head gasket to me. Is there any water mixed with the oil ?

silly me had put to much oil into the tractor so i took some out of the tractor but there was no water in it, i got a worried thow because i tought there was fuel in the oil as the oil was really runny but it was just because the oil was warm, Although what are the signs of a blown gasket

wait i think i might have sorted it, i read somewhere bout a problem sort of like this of mine own, the tractor had lay up and the liners had got dry so the person was advised to get a injection needle and put oil into the liners through the inlet manifold but the same person said that if you put too much oil in the engine would be come hydraulic, would this be my problem as there was too much oil in the tractor, i must also let you no that the 135 is blowing past as well lol, the more i talk about this the more i thing and engine overhaul is needed

Too much oil would definitely cause crank case pressure problems. Oil "growth" is usually attributed to a leaking seal on the injection pump. Does the oil smell fuelly?

G'day white smoke is usually unburnt fuel ( not to be confused with steam ) oil smoke will be blue in colour, i think you have got an injector or inj pump problem. I would be pulling the injectors out and getting them tested any local tractor workshop or fuel inj repair place should be able to test for you. Low compression will also give you white smoke on starting, but from what you say that you think the oil has fuel in it it could be a bad inj/inj pump or fuel leaking into the sump at the primer pump. I would start with the inj firs and take note of the tips when you pull them out to see if they are damp, also do not clean the tips with a wire brush or similar as you will damage the tiny orifices and it will not spray properly, just wrap them up in a clean cloth and show the repairman.

do you mean a leak in the lift pump because when i took it off there was a lot of oil came out but i thought that was due to the amount of oil in the system. the injects have been recently restored and i checked them and seem to be ok

G'day yes i do mean the lift pump it is a common cause of fuel in the oil but i do not think this is a cause of your hard starting unless you are getting air in the system. Do you have a shop manual for this so as to be able to check the injector timing?

ah just read this bit again and it sounds to me like a compression test is in order
