Hello all,
I have a MF 203 with loader and backhoe. I just recently bought the tractor at a great price. The tractor didn't run when I bought it (gas tank was loaded with diesel sludge). Tractor now starts by the second revolution every time. Now my problem is that the tractor only goes in reverse. I drained the transmission oil and it was very murky and had lots of water in it. All of the gears look fine meaning i cannot see any visible rust. I think the tractor only sat for a whole year unused.
The main issue is that using the shuttle shift lever it shifts great into reverse, goes into neutral but will not move into forward (Shuttle gears do not engage with the forward gears). I took off the whole steering column assembly and now have access into the transmission and can visually see the shuttle gears. Nothing looks out of the ordinary to me.
I am hoping that someone with some experience or knowledge can point me in the right direction on what else I can try. Shuttle glides very easily from neutral to reverse and vise verse but just will not go to forward. It is very frustrating so any help is greatly appreciated.
