mf 4345 speed sensor question

after about a hour of use the speedometer stops working and it peeps/flashes code for it. its running me nuts. do these things go bad? i'm pretty sure its the one on top of back right axle, can anyone confirm this.

I can't confirm for you which one it is, but they do go bad. I had to replace the tach speed sensor on my 4200 series last winter, it "sensed" off of a gear on they hydraulic pump. This type of sensor is getting very common on heavy trucks and tractors both.

Well, i aint priced it but I am just going to get one tomorrow. They seem like the cam sensor on the ford powerstroke that would crap out for no reason.

Pretty much the same deal. The only problem I had changing mine out was getting the electrical connector apart without damaging it. Of course the connector was where you could "almost" reach it.
