I have a 2006 Massey Ferguson 492 4wd with 1070 Loader and Cab. The perkins diesel engine runs very well and has been gone through already with cleaned fuel tank, cleaned fuel lines and injectors, along with a new injector pump (old stuff damaged prior from bad fuel). A new clutch has also been put in previously.
I was told I need to split the tractor and replace the rear hydraulic lift pump for the 3pt hitch / clutch pto drive is not working (the screen on the bottom has been pulled and debris from pump noted). Notes from running the tractor the 3 pt hitch doesn't move at all up or down and the pto will spin when engine running but will not engage or turn with any load on it.
Also the 1st/REV shift fork is broken (old piece removed from top cover) so the tractor only operates in 2nd and 3rd High and Low gears. I am looking for any guidance or helpful tips for splitting the tractor and any other recommendations of things that might need to be done while apart. I believe both parts get replaced from the same spot (split the frame behind the transmission). If anyone has Part Numbers for those parts, it seems like these 400 series tractors are harder to get parts for.
This tractor is a work in progress, Thanks
Will be fixing the cab (sourcing / making if necessary) windows and door and AC system once back up and operating fully.
