Thanks for the review George! Will pass this info on...

Get them to add a set of steps. Trading your rear mower for a wider rear mower will be cheaper than a MMM. BTDT!

Well I went and bought that MF 1526. I was wrong about that step. It has metal strips on the platform with fiberglass on top and a thick rubber mat on top of that. Not really fond of that. It does have a step below the deck. A guy really needs to use it so you can stand flat footed on the deck. I am thinking of just getting a 60" rear finish mower. I'll have to keep everyone how well it does otherwise. Too wet to do anything outside right now. I tested a mahindra max28 yesterday. Came close to getting it but didn't like the hydro pedals on it. I'm tall and long legged and just didn't feel comfortable on it. It didn't have the three speed hydro either.

Congrats. When do you get it?
We have a 60" RFM, had a MMM on the 1523 we traded. It was a nice well built unit, but being able to back in to corners works better.

Get one with a floating hitch. We have an MF RF 500, which is built by Alamo, great mower, and the entire rear of the mower is the discharge. It kicks the grass slightly to the right.

I went and picked it up yesterday. I drove it around a little bit today and stuck the bucket in the mud just to get it dirty haha. Sold my 1215 today to my insurance agent. I was surprised he showed up wanting it. I only mentioned it to him to as I was making sure I was covered on the road with the new one on my trailer. I was cleaning it up getting ready to run an ad for it and he showed up on my doorstep. Already took some pictures and everything. Now I have to get a mower. Yeah my Bush Hog mower has a floating hitch. I wish it would work but I let it go with the little tractor and gonna buy another one but 60" It was 14 years old too so I got a lot of use out of it. I am going to get another 3 point hitch mower. They work great as counterweights too when using a loader. Thanks for the infor on the mower. I need a good stout one as I live on hilly ground and it is easy to bend castors and have flats. I want one with solid wheels. I'll probably go looking a little tomorrow. My old was was a Bush Hog. It was great but even it bent some castors. Till next time.

Thank you,
I spent most of today looking for mowers. I think I am going to try and get another Bush Hog finish mower. I had a FTH 480 on my little tractor and that mower was 15 years old and still going strong. Their brochure shows they have FTH 600, Everything was closed today except tractor supply and atwoods. Didn't really like either one of them. One thing I can tell you I like right off hand about that tractor is the throttle Hydro pedal combined. That works pretty slick. You can use the throttle control as well. There is no clutch on this machine at all. that surprised me. It uses electronic switch to turn it on. Haven't gotten to play hardly any so can't tell you too much. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Everyone. Got my Bush Hog RDTH 60 put on the 1526 this weekend. It mows like a champ. The tractor has lots of power for sure. I took off the loader and mowed without it but could mow most everything in two wheel drive with this tractor. My other little one would have to be in 4 wheel drive all of the time. A little more information on the flimsy step. The step is not flimsy at all but gives you the impression that it is. The tractor platform is mounted on rubber bushings. Looks like they are about 1-1/2 to 2 inches thick. They are a softer rubber. I was crawling underneath today to check it all out. Everything is still steel underneath but those bushings are right under the step. When I grabbed the step and pulled my self up off the ground with you could see that bushing flex. The metal did not bend at all. It sure makes you think you are going to break something when getting on it but it gives you a softer ride. It does ride good on rough ground. Don't know how long those bushing will last but time will tell. I don't like the ROPS on it. It is too tall in my opinion. And it leans forward so when you catch a low small branch in the trees it drags it right down on top of your head. I will be making some modifications to that for sure. It looks like that is more dangerous than if it was too short. Well that's it for now. I need to change my avatar on here haha. I will see if I can't get a few pictures soon. Been to busy playing and checking it all out. Have a good week!!

I got the chance to drive to our MF dealer in Truro while home thiese past two weeks and look at the 1526 in person. Didn't get a chance to drive it but it sure looks like a stout little tractor. The step did give like you say and I saw the mounts you're referring to, I don't think it will be a problem.

Enjoy the new ride!

Well mike. Did you get over to drive that 1526? You said you wanted to get something that your wife could operate. I had my wife drive mine without any problems. I'd ask her to mow but I'm having too much fun

I hear you, I'd be afraid once she got on I'd be looking at going back to manual labour jobs while she had all the fun.

Unfortuantely I work away from home, I get the chance to get back only a few times a year so with all we had to do we didn't get a chance to get back to test drive one. For now I have to live vicariously through folks like you. :)

Yup nuttin worse that someone else taking over the good job hahaha. Oh my on working away from home. That would make it tough playing on a new tractor all in its own. From what I have read it is still pretty hard to even get a 1526. I read someplace here that there were only 23 shipped last month. I don't know how true that is. I had looked several places for a long time when I came across this one. In reality I was looking for a 1523 to start off with not realizing that they were discontinued. I had seriously thought about a GC 2600 as they have some pretty good reviews on them but for just a bit more you can get quite a bit more tractor. Not that I really need it but it's handy to have. Well don't work too hard where ever you are.
