I looked really hard at the 1526 but eventually decided upon the 1529 basically because of the loader. I liked the feel and Size of the 1526 a lot but I felt the extra lifting capacity of the L 100 was worth it. The extra power is also a benefit

To see both setting next to each other they are very close in size. But yes the 1529 has more lift. I think the 1529 is the most popular in CUTS. I think you can probably even get one cheaper than the 1526. Very close if you do a build you own on the Massey site. The 1526 is really a little more tractor than I need. I thought the same way you are think when comparing the GC 2600 to the 1526. The 1529 is a great tractor. Does it come in a hydrostatic drive?

The 1529 comes with a 3 speed hydro and skid steer bucket attachments. It oes come in about $2000 more than the 1526 when getting the hydro and upgraded bucket.

Don't know what the price difference is on the bucket but they had a 1529 with hydro where I got mine and it was only about $350 more than the 1526. It would be wiser to go with the bigger tractor with no doubts in mind but I just didn't need a bigger one. And the 1529 had armrests. Mine doesn't
