I have been talking with the local MF dealer about a new tractor, and soon
I will visit the Kubota dealer. I am in the market for my first tractor, but have worked/used many a tractor in my lifetime. With FEL, he quoted me $19,500 for the MF 251 Model. It has 48 Engine HP and is 2wd, 8 speeds, manual transmission. I know nothing about Kubota tractors other than they have a good reputation for quality. Do any of you Kubota owners know of a comparable Kubota tractor. I need at least 48hp to do haycutting, baling, etc. $19.5k seems like an awful lot of money. Is there a comparable, yet less expensive Kubota that would fill my needs?
Thanks, and any advice would be apreciated.

I heard of a new model, the L4300, I believe, out this year. It is a utility Kubota along the lines of the L2600 and L3000, and is standard shift. I don't know anything else about this model, as I just heard about it in passing earlier this week. If the model number is any indication, it should have about 43 engine hp. Maybe somebody else knows more?

thanks fishman and wheeldog for the info. I'm taking my time searching for a tractor and any info like that will help.

I'm off to the kubota site now.
