Apparently, "half-way up the axle shaft" trumps filling with 7.9 qts...

Are you saying this plastic plug is the fill-level?

Sorry that doesn’t look like it , mine is a 2012 and I have a bolt plug in that spot.

If I were you I would just look in the large fill hole and fill it until the shaft is almost submerged. That’s what I did for the first 2 years until I got the service manual.

Again, (yawn...) it's important to use the manual for your make, model and YEAR of tractor.
Stump's tractor is a 2006.

If you get a little too much in it it'll just come out the top a bit. No harm. The fill cap on mine is made to let out overfill.

I'm in a similar boat, I have a 2006, the manual has that fill bolt, but jamming my head in there around the loader, it's definitely not there.

I just went with the "fill halfway up the axle shaft" or maybe just a little over that. Certainly not the 7.9 qts it called for…
