I have an electrical problem with my MF30. All of a sudden neither my Ampmeter nor the Fuel Gauge are working. The alternator seems to be putting out voltage. Any ideas? Nick Marks, Dublin, Ca

Check to see if you have a separate instrument fuse.
Actually my symptom description was wrong. The ampmeter is actually working as the needle goes negative when I hit the starter. It actually acts like the alternator died. The fuel gauge still doesn't work. I am trying to get a copy of the electrical diagram. I have the full service manual but somehow I misplaced that page from the electrical section. Thanks for the reply. Nick Marks, Dublin, Ca

On many Massey tractors of that era had externally regulated Delco alternators. The fuel gauge was powered from pin 4 on the regulator. If the system isn't charging there is no power to pin 4 (so no fuel gauge operation).

Thank You so much for the information. When I get back to the ranch I'll check that. Nick Marks, Dublin, Ca
