MF 5465
MF5465 2010 model with Perkins 6 cylinder. Rev counter keeps creeping up by a few hundred revs, engine remains the same. Has anyone any suggestion. Can’t find a sensor or any clue what it could be.

Welcome to the forum. (y)

I don't know your tractor so is it an electronic or mechanical Tachometer?

If it's mechanical, the cable probably needs lubed. If it's electronic, it could be a corroded connector or a bad head.

Found out it’s electronic tacho and just changing sensor which is neatly hidden behind the fuel filter. Will give it a try and see if it solves the problem. Sensor is bloody expensive £175. So fingers crossed it works.
