Mid Mount PTO Pump ...

I am thinking a on board air pump is a cool thing to have. :thumbsup: maybe one of those 1 gallon hotdog air compressors? remove the electric motor and make a coupling to pump to midpto. remove the pump from tank and mount undereneath and install pump in front of tractor or back. run a steel line from pump to tank:thumbsup:.

Did any of you guys ever come up w/ "anything" utilizing the MMM PTO
shaft, be it a generator, pump, or blender. Seriously though, what
a waste, I need to find a way to utilize that thing...

I've been wondering about the MMM PTO driving a small front-mounted wood chipper.

Anyone tried it?

Im still waiting for someone to come out with an aftermarket type hydraulic pump that bolts in place of the mid PTO like the ones for dump trucks, etc. that mount on the side of a transmission.

Like others have said, by the time you couple the hydraulic pump to the mid-PTO shaft, you're sacrificing some ground clearance. If a guy could remove the mid-PTO gearbox and bolt a hydraulic pump unit in its place with gears that mesh with the transmission, I think you'd be in business. You could also configure that setup to draw the fluid directly from the bottom of the sump.

This really proves that there is a want for this kinda thing. A front mounted chipper is a great idea! An additional power source is a great idea as well. the mid pto is an unharnessed tool in my book and it needs to be broke.

That BX2753 Mid PTO Shaft could be just the ticket for a front chipper!

I need to see how much some of thos parts cost....prob 800 oh man...

I have to respectfully disagree with you. 1800 RPM generator heads are far from rare. If you search for the following terms "generator 1800 RPM" you're going to find quite a few entries.

Industrial generators are often 1500rpm (50Hz AC) or 1800rpm (60Hz AC) Diesel engine manufacturers therefor offer 1500 and 1800rpm governed generator duty engines.

People here in the states don't know what 50Hz is... lol

BTW a generator will run 50 or 60 hz.... most generators (industrial) have both ratings on the tag. I work for Aggreko and our Stanford Gen ends have the KW and KVA ratings in both 50/60hz. We also change voltages by restrapping the leads from 208-480 (220-415 @50hz).

The big issues is the numbers of poles and what RPM it will spin. A 4 pole runs at 1500/1800 (50/60hz) A 2 pole will run at twice that. 3600 rpm for a smaller gen power head would be difficult to achieve with a simple PTO adapter. it can be done, but more pullies, or a gearbox under the tractor isn't going to be space effective for ground clearance.
