Re: Midwest Finish Mower Pictures are here

If you compare the Midwest Box Blade and Rear Blade prices to their competition, I don't think the RFM mower will be $2000. Maybe $1000-1500 depending on size. I think Jim has done his research there too.

Hello Ken,
Considering Sicma infringed on patent # USD0424071 owned by Land Pride and had to change their mower design and pay some damages to Landpride. Sigma has nothing original on their mower. Woods, Bush Hog & Landpride had the box frame mower concept design in production before Sicma. All Sicma did was use a welded copy of a Landpride deck, and used the same drive transmission as Sitrex, Caroni, & Del Marino with Befco hi-lift blades. The Midwest finish mower is engineered from the ground up, not just some components thrown together and powder painted.

Hi Mark--I am aware of the history of manufacturers picking the best attributes of a proven machine and modifying it a little and capatilize on a design familiar to the public--Still, it will be interesting to see how how the different gear drive will work out--I am sure the guys on TBN will purchase a few units and keep us informed as to long term performance--(If the price is under First Choice)??---Ken Sweet

Less noise means a safer finish mower.

I'd think it's obvious - the mower makes the least noise when it is not running, and when the blades are not moving, it is at its safest! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry, couldn't resist that one.

Re: Midwest Finish Mower Pictures are here

I know, right....

I'll stay with First Choice. Proven function and design.

Personally, with the tractor running I don't care how loud the mower is.

Hi Mark-I am sorry I read your earlier post to reflect Midwest RFM runs quieter and safer with the different gear setup??--Ken Sweet

I doubt a quieter gear box realy matters... i have never picked up the noise of my gear box mainly just the blades spinning noise the driveline turns so slow..
