Friend has an '02, I'm pretty sure, V-10, F350 and has just over 50,000 on the clock and just had the exhaust manifold bolts replaced, again. The selling dealer did the repairs both times, so gave a little help with pricing, but what the h#!! is going on there? When questioned about the issue they had no answer for him, other than to say they had 3 more to do after his; 2 V-10's and a 5.4

Had all of the plugs replaced in my V10 Class C $760...The exhaust manifold bolts were rotting off, the dealer wouldn't even give a quote--Time and materials...Very sad for an epic OEM mistake...I wouldn't mount a mailbox with the studs that were on that V10.

My '70 Chevelle still has the factory manifold studs.

I sold it to reduce my risks...Already had nearly $3k in misc mechanical repairs in 2 years...Had to cut my losses and this was a very well maintained motorhome that was used as they are supposed to be.

My buddy just sent me a pic today of his 09 F150 FX4 5.4L . It turned 200,000 miles on his way to work this morning. 5 years and not a single thing but oil, filters, tires, and brakes. OEM plugs still in it. Hard to believe they have not blown out of that 5.4 huh. Roll Eyes. So many on here want you to think every Ford blows up the second you drive it off the lot. Chris

They don't blow out of the 3 valves! Thought you would know that.

They just break in the 3v engines.

Yea, last 3V I did was my BIL's. I broke one off. They had 120,000 miles on them. Disconnected the injection and drove it 50 miles to a shop in Indy. He charged $40 to remove it. I replaced all with one piece plugs.

If you are still shopping, have you looked at any single axle dumps? Like a Ford 700 or 8000? Those can go for low money because there isn't much commercial use for trucks that size, but it's what you need for hauling firewood.

Not true, many make it past the warranty before they blow up or come apart!

$760 for spark plugs?

I did a truck a few months ago that had a little over 150K on it. One broke off.

You have to remember it a Motor Home. Tougher to work on in many occasions.
