"The sound of the weld!"

Try explaining that to the new safety officer(that's never welded) that says you have to wear ear plugs all the time. Sound can be the difference between passing an x-ray and failing because of the smallest of flaws, especially when you're doing 6010 root passes. Nice to hear it burning in consistently. Now for gouging and heavy grinding, ear plugs should be worn.
Now all I need is some auto sound deafening earplugs that would discern the difference between welding vs. grinding or female voices. Oops... I shouldn't have said that!

You come up with those earplugs and I'd buy a couple cases to wear at work... and I don't weld and grind at the current job!

Great advice as usual Shield Arc. My next project is using exactly that type of square tubing so your tips will be put to use.

Thank you for continuing to help us rookies out here.

Yes I too appreciate his great advice on welding. Shield ARC Really knows welding.

I hope to be as great a welder as him someday.
