Hey all. Would anyone have any ideas why I seem to be moving fluid from the hydraulic system (tank under the seat) to the main gearbox (yellow dipstick aft of the engine?). Seems to be happening this time of year when I have the Kubota v plow on it and using it. Didn’t seem to do it over the last few months of summer but then again wasn’t using it much. When I bought it the transmission was so far over serviced if was starting to blow it out the top vent and noticed the hysteric tank under the seat was really low. We did a complete service on the entire machine and now after just a few hours of use I checked the yellow dipstick and it was way over full so sucked out enough to lower it into the normal zone and refilled the tank under the seat which was slightly low. There must me a common connection point or a seal that is out somewhere for this to happen but I can’t seem to find anywhere in the manual that addresses this issue. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Not sure which machine you are talking about. The Kubotas I have use a common sump for the hydraulics and the transmission. I believe the Deere 4600 I had did too. Many tractors do. If I were you I would ask the local dealer for whatever brand it is. They should be happy to discuss that.

Sorry. Should have clarified. This is in a 2015 RTV-X1100C side by side Kubota. There are two separate systems. The transmission and the hydraulic system share some components but are two separate full points and should stay where you fill them too. Just can’t figure out where the cross contamination or common point may be where fluid would be transferring from the hydraulic system to the hydrostatic system. Thanks everyone.

Sorry I should have been clearer. It’s a rtvx1100c side by side. Thanks much.

Is the hydraulic pump mounted to the gear box that is being filled with oil? If yes I would suspect that the shaft seal on the pump is leaking.

That’s the part I can’t figure out. The maint manuals aren’t clear about that but I would assume it would have to be something like that. Was hoping someone has experienced this issue that would know. I’ve downloaded all manuals and can’t seem to find a real good picture or diagram showing that

Can you see the hydraulic pump or trace the lines from the reservoir to the pump. I looked at parts breakdown on line and it plugged into some type of gearbox but like you stated kind of unclear what that box connects to.

Sorry but not at all familiar with an RTV

Ya that’s the part that is really confusing. It almost has to be an internal seal or component that I can’t readily see. I will keep digging and see. It only seems to be migrating with the heavy use of the v plow using hydraulics allot.

Looking through the parts diagrams, it appears the control valve for the lift cylinder and the pressure relief is mounted to transmissions front case. Not sure if this could be where the leak is, but it's the only place I can see where the 2 systems connect together.

I will tear into that and see if I can find anything. Which page are you finding the particular image on? I’ve got 3 diffent maint manuals I’m looking at.
