Re: Milky fluid in water separator

Most diesels are rated for B5 but at some stations in Oregon now B20 is the only choice of Diesel.

How are they able to get away with that? How do you cope with this level of intervention, to the detriment of your equipment? I can't imagine there is ANY manufacturer allowing this high level of biodiesel to be used in their machines without voiding the warranty, and likely not even complying with the emissions regs for use in Tier four final specs?:confused2::eek:

B5 is state mandated the B20 is the choice of the selling station plus there is a holiday on the B20 state tax, they are wanting to push the mandate up to possibly B10. Other states out there also have similar mandates, some already at B20 levels.

Nice. So most if not all engines are rated for less than B10 and they want you to go to 20. Sounds like gas. Most if not all marine engines are rated up to 10% ethanol and they was to go to 15%. Don't mind what damage it does or the fact it voids your warranty.

Does it mean 20% bio diesel could contain lots of water? How often do you have to drain water in terms of hours or gallons of fuel used?
