Miller mig, what pressure to normally run

It's all about shielding. If you can run at 12 cfh with no porosity, Turning it up to 24 would use 2x as much gas. If all is running well, Turn it down and save some $$. Your welds will tell you what to set it at.

This is my take.

And your guage is probabally indeed CFH and NOT PSI.

Basically, take some scrap steel and start turning it down until the welds start to get pin-holes in them (porosity). Then turn it up a tad. Any more is just wasting gas.

It could be either. My Harris gauge that came with my Lincoln is in PSI but my floating ball gauge regulator, Victo I think, is CFH. I was told that PSI is used for ease of set up since you don't need to flow gas but is not as accurate. I've never had a CFH meter in a round dial gauge, just the floating ball style that requires gas to flow to be set up.
