John will fix you up - great guy. We talked at lenght about the various sizes, and he steered me toward the 4' light-duty. He was right on, I have yet to go after something it couldn't handle.

I'm glad to hear you feel that way about the 48 LD grapple. I've argued based on my experience that there is really no reason for anything bigger with even big CUTs but as I operate a Kioti CK20, I didn't really have the experience of running the grapple on a 50hp machine with a close to 2000lb lift capacity FEL. I think a lot of guys assume, incorrectly, that they should try to match their stock bucket size. Once you've actually used a grapple it becomes pretty clear that grapple function and bucket functions are almost completely unrelated and that a smaller grapple can actually increace the load capacity. Again, thanks for sharing your experience on the L5030/LA852 combo. Photos?

Though it's not a Millonzi rock/root grapple, but a PT grapple bucket instead, I thought I'd post a link to this video clip of it in use, in case you hadn't seen it one of my posts in the PT forum.

I wanted to point out just how fast it is to pick brush up and move it, using ANY grapple. I actually positioned the grapple twice on this load, or it would've been even faster. I accidentally lifted the bucket as I was trying to tilt and roll it over the pile. I didn't know my son was filming it, or I would've demanded a re-take... LOL!

In this case, I think pictures (moving) are truly worth a 1,000 words...

BTW, the video is shown at actual speed and is less than 30 seconds.

You don't know how appropriate your post is Kent.... I first learned of TBN and grapples when trying to buy a PT425 a few years ago. I had an order filled out (with grapple bucket and 4n1) when PT raised their prices over the July 4th weekend. I was miffed and so went out comparison shopping for conventional tractors. Bought a slightly used Kioti CK20 for the same price as the PT and then started a search for a grapple. I finally found Millonzi on eBay and won the auction. After a few weeks of talking to Joe Millonzi about how to mount the grapple I finally took delivery and have been a grappling fool ever since.

Love the PTs. I love my Kioti but there are definitely times I wish I had a PT425 with about 5 or 6 implements lined up to handle just about any chore. It deserves it's reputation as the Swiss Army Knife of the tractor world.

By the way, one feature of the PT grapple bucket that I like is that the three tines are spread out over the width of the bucket. No particular advantage to having them concentrated in the middle like most grapples (including the Millonzi). I've always liked the WR Long clamshell design for the same reason but could not justify the extra $$$.

I have the Anbo grapple rake which works great for my uses that include picking up 50- 600# individual rocks, single felled trees for cross-bucking and particularly backraking ground/debris. It is of the clamshell variety and definitely won't grab as large a pile of brush or debris as the Millonzi.

Ditto on John, great to work with. Also thanks to IslandTractor, for all of his posts and pics, made the choice a lot easier. I received my 4' grapple a couple of weeks ago. Used it a little, just enough to get some of the paint scrapped off ;) I'll try and post some pics next week.
