I am wiring some rops lights on my JD 3320. I am planning on using a "mini fuse tap-off" circuit I bought at an auto parts store and tapping into my worklight circuit. This circuit plugs into the mini fuse block and then has a second fuse for the new circuit This allows me to power the lights using my headlight switch but I will also be adding an inline switch so I can turn the rops lights off at will. Any thoughts until I get in too deep? I have the prelim wiring done but haven't tapped the power portion yet.

Thanks,
Mike

The only caution I would have is how many amps you are going to pull through the factory switch. How many lights are you adding?

I am adding two 35w lights so 6 amps or so draw. The circuit for the additional lights will be tapped off the worklight circuit and not the headlights.

Sounds like a plan! Be sure to post some pics!

I did this same thing with my old kubota only i used a relay and a seperaste power source from the battery. this way you do not overload the switch or circuit. The circuit you are taping into was designed to carry a specific load, you change that load/resistance you might start cooking a switch or a circuit. does your factory switch apply power or ground to the lights? a simple realy should do the trick and save you from any problems down the road.

Almost ALL circuits remained grounded, and power is applied. that's pretty standard electrical principle for wireing. You don't often switch grounds, except in very specific circumstances.
