Check the oil, if fuel contaminated, change it and restart, see what happens,

Thank you... just checkd oil and sure does smell like diesel. got my starter back, guna change oil and put fuel system back together n give it a go. Thanks everyone for the advise

Post some pictures if you can, sounds like an interesting machine.

So I gave it another go, Fresh clean fuel. oil change. new filters. fires right up but still only runs for a few mins. I think the fuel pump is on its last leg.... Did research on a "Run away Diesel" and it seems like that's what it may be doing... revs to high rpm. unless I put it in gear it will slow down. still no throttle response though. I am lost I don't know what else to try!
