Mirrors for JD 4200

Fortunately I don't have tree branches to worry about. Nothing but tumbleweeds, claycrete dust and the occasional trampoline spring because some fool didn't anchor their tramp to the ground in a high wind area.

We've had two trampolines bounce through the neighborhood in the past year. The last time I mowed weeds, I picked up 11 springs lying on the ground.

I put these same mirrors on my Tractor also. They were great. My problem was they broke off at the mirror swivel point. It was like some sort of white metal stud. I intend to drill it out, tap, and put allen head rounded off on lathe back in its place.

These also swivel in out of the way. I need to get them redone, I really miss having them to use. John

Nice job on the mirrors! My neck is always hurting from looking back while using the box blade. Your place sounds similar to mine (between Falcon and Black Forest, near Colorado Springs).

Nice mirror installation on the loader supports. I thought of doing that type of installation with mine; but in my case it would have blocked off a grease fitting access hole.

Sounds like the white metal you describe is what I call Chinese Alumasteel. It may technically be steel; but it's so soft it may as well be aluminum, or old fashioned pot metal that car trim used to be made from.

Thanks! The mirrors are a great help. They don't eliminate the twist; but they reduce it significantly. I also like using them when I'm mowing near the neighbor's fence as there is less chance of whacking a fence post.

I haven't been in that area of Colorado in quite a while; but as I recall, it is similar enough to the Adams/Weld County areas before the terrain rises into the hilly Black Forest country.
