Can somebody explain the difference between position control 3 PH and 1/4" valve 3 PH? How do they differ and how does it affect your attachment?
Also, can you float a 3 PH? eg. if you are raking your yard with a pine straw rake, can you float the 3 PH so that the rake does not dig in too deep while going over small mounds/hills?

The 3ph does not have down pressure so it is always floating. Add more weight to implement to get more dig and lift 3ph slightly to get less dig.
Position control is to set, usually by numbers, the lift lever to a specific spot and that's where 3 ph goes and stays. 1/4"ing is you raise and lower the lever with your hand to where you want the 3ph to be and have to keep watching the implement to see if it's where you want it. All 1/4"ings are not the same. The B7800 drops in increments unless you bottom the lever, the B3200 does not have increments, it goes till you let go.
