Missing 777

I think someone would be claiming victory in solving it then. No debris field is suspect, The engine maker was receiving info from the engines for almost 4 hrs after it went off radar? Probably sitting in a hanger in N Korea for all I know.

My thoughts too, plane was hijacked, all systems disabled and plane is in a hanger somewhere, and all the people are kidnapped.

Just read a comment to one of the articles that suggested it landed at some Middle East location and is being loaded up with nuclear bombs. While I doubt that, it does lead to the theory that a very well thought out and organized group of terrorist could get a jet and use it as a pretty big bomb and by flying it into a city.

I really hope that is just some crackpot theory.

Me too, with bomb technologies these days much, much more that the city would be gone.

If you only wanted to use a large plane as a carrying device for bombs, be they nuclear or otherwise, would it really make sense to hijack one? Could you not get another commercial-size airplane from another non-descript source? I guess it could be cheaper to hijack one, but if you're into making nuclear bombs, you've probably got enough back-alley shenanigans going on to pay for that stuff that you could also get a black market plane..

...who knows?

Eddie, I said almost the exact same thing to my wife last night. I think it has been "stolen" If a terrorist organization actually buys a 777, it's going to make governments take notice and I don't think selling one would go un noticed in the world. Stealing one and loading it with nuclear material to do a Japanese zero mission somewhere would trump 911 on many levels. I hope I'm wrong.

Another thought, no cell phone texts or calls from more than 250 passengers before it disappeared. If it were traditionally hijacked ..someone would have sent a text. Unless the passengers already planned on a 5/7 hour flight over the ocean. If the flight landed somewhere else at night, it's possible passengers would not know it in the dark. But no communication from that many possible outlets is really odd

Will your phone work in the middle of the ocean with no cell towers?

Idk, if you send a txt and there is no immediate service, will it go through later when there is service somewhere ?
