so how can they say it went down south ind ocean without positive id yet?

The thinking of the Malaysian government and INMARSAT was that they analyzed the doppler effect of the radio signals relative to the known satellite location and determined the path had to be in southern Indian ocean. As you know if a radio signal is coming toward the receiver the frequency will be noted as being higher and if the signal source (transmitter) is going away from the receiver the apparent signal frequency will be lower. I used to work the Amateur Radio satellites, and the doppler frequency shift is very pronounced. It is pretty thin, but they think that is enough to say which of the two triangulated paths the aircraft took.

1. Why aren't they using the Hubble telescope to look for it?

2. Why are all the satellites taking pictures pointed down? The plane may have flown over them.

3. It crashed in the ocean. They should have dropped scuba divers to look for it.

4. If it flew at a 45 degree angle upward until the fuel ran out, it could then glide really far away.

This is a real concern of how the general public is so unaware of the basic laws of physics and geography. What happened to let these people slip through the education system ? Worse yet these "unaware" people buy into to remarks and promises from politicians that are false. And vote for these impossible concepts.

The lithium battery cargo theory is one I can believe as I have had personal experience .
When ELT's first came on the market they all contained Lithium batteries and they would short out and go boom.
I am former owner of an Avionics facility and past Dir of the Avionics Assoc. and remember well the chaos at that time.

Lithium batteries when dead shorted go BOOM. and I heard* that they actually were used as remote controlled IUD's during Vietnam war by the US. Apparently they served as a battery to power a listening device and then remotely shorted to explode.

I really like that It may have flown over the satellite thing... Geez all this time we have been wasting all that rocket fuel boosting satellites into orbit, and all we really needed to do was fly a plane up real high and just open the door and kick them out.. WHO KNEW?

i understand the doppler issue.. glad they finally actually used some science to find it. guess with distance and fuel ther eis nothing else to conclude other than it HAD to go down.. etc.
