So...hears my story. I work at a place where lots of people share equipment but im usually the one considered responsible for their care/maintance. anyway this morning i went to service our 739 BCS w/powersafe clutch and at first glance i noticed dust sticking to the transmission and i wondered if i had a seal leaking of what was going on..I then noticed that the transmission dipstick was missing leaving a hole almost an inch in diameter open to the outside air! dust coating everything. i have no idea how long it was missing but there is no dout that plenty of dust and dirt coated every oil covered surface both outside and inside the trans. so my question is what can i do to clean it out? im assuming there are seals and such that cant handle brake cleaner or similar things. anyone have any suggestions?
