Muhammad,
I posted a message last night in my "maintenance woes" thread. It was an answer to something sent by MChalkey. Anyway, today, both messages are gone. Any ideas?

What time was it posted? I didn't remove any messages other than moving a John Deere message from the Kubota forum to the John Deere forum.

Actually, now that I re-think it, yes, your messages might have been eaten by the (new) server. (Notice about that later on.) But don't worry, it shouldn't happen again.

It was posted around 11:00 EST, I could be off by an hour or so.

Phazer,
Same thing happened to me with two posts, one I responded to another post and it dissappeared too!

Yep, I posted one last night that was nowhere to be found this morning. And am I the only one who's totally lost as far as reading the "new messages?" Sometimes I go the new messages (yellow marked ones), back to the main index, and it still shows the blue number of new messages. I go back to that forum and it may have the yellow markings on the ones I just read, or it may not have anything marked as being new. And this morning, it showed 14 new messages in the "Kubota Owning" forum and I think I found 3 or 4. Something similar existed on some of the other forums. And this afternoon, some of the "new messages" turned out to be ones I read this morning. I still haven't figured out a way to read the new messages, unless I have a couple of hours to spare.

P.S. Just now the main index showed 8 new messages in the "Feedback and more" forum. I found 6, and when I returned to the main index, no new messages were shown.

Bird,
I've had the same thing happen! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif I'll go into a heading, leave without reading anything and when I go back the folders aren't yellow anymore as if I had read them. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif I've clicked into folders marked read and I know that I did not read those messages. You are not alone! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif JimBinMI

Well first, to view the correct number of 'new messages' on the main index, simply refresh.

Then, when you view the forum that has new messages, just entering that topic marks all messages read. However, the folders will stay yellow as long as you are on the site. If you leave and come back, they will be marked as read.

Don't worry guys, I have the entire new messages/new since last login feature, and other features to make viewing easier being worked on for a future update... not sure of the time frame now, but it is in the works.

Refresh? You mean when I first come to the site, and the main index is on the screen, I have to click on "refresh" to get the right number of new messages. Then when I view a forum with new messages, finish, click on "main index" again, and when it comes back up, I have to click on "refresh" again to get the right number of new messages. Because if that isn't what you mean, it doesn't work right (but only part of the time; sometimes it does work right)./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

And I really look forward to getting the "new messages since last login" feature back./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
