it has 300 hours..I did that diesel purge flush and now seem to have more oil coming out of the exhaust..Maybe the cleaner also washing out all the soot in the exhaust?

I have read about this problem here and several other forums. One solution is to put the engine under a load and work it pretty hard. If you have a plow, tiller or some attachment that you could use to do this, you should give it a try and see if the smoke stops. If not, you may have some other problems like worn rings.

ebyrd10000. if the tractor starts up nicely and runs like a champ and the only problem is a little soot from the exhaust i would not be too worried because as you work this tractor for many hours running it at about 1000 rpm and above while hauling and ploughing.the exhaust may eventually clear out.make sure you have a clean air filter in there and there is no obstruction in the air passage.i have heard that some guys run kerosene in the diesel engine and they have found that it burns cleaner for them.

i have cut the exhaust off band routed it to the ground I got tired of being covered with oil.Tractor runs ok but my exhaust is still plumming and when i shutt it off and come back there is oil on the ground under the exhaust pipe where i pointed it to the ground. maybe half a table spoon worth of oil??

You might want to do a google search on "wet stacking" and read up on this. If wet stacking is not your problem then you've probably got worn rings.

that do not sound like a good working engine. the oil through the stack is too much. you probably have worn rings. or more likely valve seals wear. or some engine head problem.the valve guide in the head could be worn.only way to fix it would be to rebuild the thing.
