Moderator approval?

I got one of those the other day too. I re-read my post to make sure I had not said anything I shouldn't have. It was pretty benign. Seems a bit over the top.

Advertisers have required moderators to add more word filters, which is causing more posts to get flagged. Moderators are now forced to read and manually approve any post that gets flagged for certain word combinations.

Seems like a huge PITA for them, so I'm sure they'll be making improvements to it, to reduce the number of flagged posts. This just started last week.
Maybe they’ll make you a moderator, so you can help. 😁

Damn. It's going to be hard to un-see that.

I just got that for the first time also in a grease gun thread? LOL
Guess it didn't like me saying I had problems with Lincoln and Dewalt but my no-name Kubota branded one has been trouble free.

I've gotten that notice a few times in the Hunting threads. I'm not sure if it's guns, killing or something else that causes it. I do think it's odd that a website based on people living out in the country, working their land and doing stuff in the outdoors would have issues with hunting.

Back in the day, in the old way, human moderators reading the daily posts and pulling the inappropriate content out just got too hard to do due to the volume of daily posts. Or it just looked like a fun profitable business to develop moderation software. Problem is (I'm told) a few of our good posts will get caught in the web during the developmental stage... It's been a few months since this started happening to me. I can tell you this really irks me. If it irks enough people maybe they will leave the forum and the problem will solve itself...few enough daily posts to censor manually

And sometimes it’s spelled with a “k”

asterisk

/ăs′tə-rĭsk″/

noun

  1. A star-shaped figure (*) used chiefly to indicate an omission, a reference to a footnote, or an unattested word, sound, or affix.
  2. (Mathematics) A symbol used to indicate multiplication, as in 2 * 3 = 6.

transitive verb

  1. To mark with an asterisk.

I didn't put the asterics there. How about en:poop:Ification?
Asterics is not spelled with an x.
You did realize my post was tongue in cheek, right? Also, thanks for the spelling correction. And I like your emoji spelling, it keeps the automatic asterisk maker from putting them in the words.
