Thanks for the tip, I'll have a set of those magnets the next time in HF. The first time I used the HF magnetic lights on a boat/trailer I bought, they fell off within 1/2 block. I was trying to be low profile as a Police car cruised by while I wired them on and scoot the back streets home. I really didn't want to answer any questions about why the plates for a 4x8 utility trailer registered in Fla were on an 18 ft boat trailer in NY, with NY numbers.

For a stronger magnet, HF also sells a 4" magnetic ground for welding for $5.99. That should hold the light on just about anything.
I have a set of those lights and they won't take much wind before it overcomes the magnets. I try to put them out of the wind if possible or just zip-tie them on.

I used a professional set of these when I was in the towing business, they had real strong magnets. I used duct tape to keep them from scratching peoples vehicles.

I am now coveting a set of wireless lights, though I don't need them.:( I could tell the wife that I need them for the hay wagon...:D
