My 3016 has the brakes and the treadle on the right and it's virtually impossible to use the pedals for individual braking.

With my old Ferguson, I used the individual brakes quite often, especially when plowing snow. One wheel would spin and I'd apply the brake to that wheel, in effect giving the same effect as a differential lock. With the tube type fel sticking so far out, it would take a lot of room to turn it and when in the snow, I would lock one wheel to turn it in it's own length, more or less.

I initially was upset that I couldn't use the rear brakes individually, or the brakes at all, except for parking.. But after having it for over a year now and having gone thru two winters, one a real bugger, I found that the tractor turns in such a tight circle naturally, and since I do have a differential lock now, I don't really miss not being able to control the rears individually.

It is dumb placing the brake pedal(s) where they are but I'm betting you won't mind after using it for a while.

I understand I just never have had to mess with frozen ground lol. Use to do the same with 2wd tractors moving dirt
