Moles

Is there anyone who does not have moles?

Our German Shepherd kills at least 6 per year it seems. There's always one laying in the yard somewhere. They must not taste very good because neither dog will eat them.

I have moles and the ONLY thing I found that works is outdoor cats. Also mulching the leaves so that the mole tunnels can easily been seen by the cats.

Yep. A mama cat with kittens is best because she will hunt for the kittens and teach them to hunt. Mine cleared out a 3 ac. yard in about 2 months.

My FLIR camera shows the tunnel locations and the occupants, too. I like to aerate my lawn with slugs or .38 shot shells.

Agree, I had something (I think chipmunks) digging holes in my raised beds and they had about 10 holes in them and I tried trapping them with a 110 connibear trap but they went through it. I bought a box trap and about that time, a stray cat showed up and was getting into our trash.

So we put the trash in the garage and she then started hunting and wiped out, not only whatever was in my raised beds, but we haven't had a mouse in the house since she showed up. Usually have at least a few mice in the house by now, especially right after harvest.

She had kittens and something killed all of the kittens. I think it was a skunk because I shot a big skunk right after they disappeared. Anyway, nature has a way of taking care of nature.

A Castor oil plant will keep them away.They hate the chemicals/smells in it.
