Extremists and other henny penny/chicken little's that think the lawsuits etc. will eventually lead to the banning of glyphosate are off the wall...they belong in the same boat as those that think banning guns is the answer to mass shootings etc...It's not the answer...

What is needed is education of protective measures...just about any effective pesticides come with small tomes of fine printed warnings and instructions that mostly never get read...Some people mistakenly think that if the label says mix 2 ounces of concentrate with a gallon of water that twice as much will be twice as effective...DOH!

Judicial use and protective measures go a long way in making dangerous products much safer...

The advent of things like seat belts, guard rails, speed limits, building codes etc., etc...have saved untold lives...many other safety measures were only implemented after loss of life and related lawsuits...

Education is the key to preventing the harmful effects of dangerous products etc...not outright banning...

It should not take deaths and following lawsuits to get companies to warn users of known or possible dangers...anyone bought a new_tractor or lawnmower that does not have any warning or "danger" stickers plastered on them?

What you say is pretty much true; however, you have to take your victims as you find them. In the real world, most farmers and farm workers are not lawyers and do not have degrees in Biology and Chemistry. I would be willing to wager that many have difficulty reading directions and in fact most may not speak or read English. In order to accept a risk, you need to know and understand what the risk is. Apparently Monsanto hasn't conveyed that properly. If their product is unsafe at any speed, it should be taken off the market. Good bye DDT, Asbestos, and Chevy Corvair.

I saw something on the TED channel last night that disturbed me. A researcher claimed that issuing warnings has very little impact on peoples behavior and suggesting social conformity has a huge effect. Stupid Lemmings!

For instance, threatening or pleading with non compliant British taxpayers had little effect. Mentioning that 9 out of 10 Brits pay their taxes, netted them Billions!

It should be a real lesson for those that make up warning labels.

As for pollution. YES, the Earth is resilient. But there are apparently many ticking time bombs out there so to speak. In the environment and in our own bodies I guess. All those various metal containers that have not rusted out yet. I think our troubles haven't really even started yet.

Let’s ban Roundup and bring back all the other stuff that is really toxic.

No need to bring it back. it's already here.
It's in the food you buy at the grocery store that came from who knows where.
It's mercury in the seafood. You name it, we have most likely ingested it

Future generations will look back in amazement that it was legal, moral, acceptable, and profitable to contaminate the Earth with toxins.

One thing warning labels do is put the burden of harm on the consumer/end user...(same reason for warning stickers on machines)...

Not sure what "issuing warnings" means?...not sure it is the same as warning labels...?

I'm far from an advocate for most types of restrictions but there is no wide line between what hazardous materials that can be sold to the public and those requiring a license to purchase/posess.

As for the topic...depending on the the appeal time frame...an upholding and dismissal of the appeal will unleash the 4K+ other lawsuits out there...if so somewhere in the future we will see some sort of ID and signature requirement...currently there are age restrictions on many things besides alcohol and tobacco products etc...
One step below requiring a license to buy something would be requiring a signature stating the signer agrees to not use whatever product outside the guidelines in the (warning) instructions...

just an opinion...but after what has been learned about A.O. in Vietnam any and all herbicides should be scrutinized for possible health concerns...

There is no defense for them.

Nor is there a defense for someone quoting someone else out of context or paraphrasing...(at least learn to use an ellipsis :D)

They are finding it in many things, I just read where it was found in vaccines.

They'll blame it on the farmers or spray companies for 'improper application procedures'.
