More 430 loader questions/ problems

Hi all,

I had a post last week asking you all with 430 loaders if the "slop" in the bucket tiping linkage is normal. I can move the whole hydraulic cylinder at that linkage back and fourth at least 3/4 of an inch. Also, where the left side of the loader (when sitting on the seat) meets the sqare bar, (just in front of the left brake pedals) I can move that side up & down and back and fourth more than seems normal. Also, as I go over bumps, I can visibly see the left side of the loader bouncing around slightly. All I want to know is if this stuff is normal as the loader is brand new and I may still have some recourse with the dealer. Am I being too picky?

Sounds like your dealer needs to readjust the loader frame. It should fit tight, and the set-up instructions tell how to do that.
You are right about seeing your dealer.

I have a 430 Loader and it too is loose i have about 180 hours on my machine it was tighter when i first bought it
i noticed the frame wears on the alignment stub (at the square tube) i put some weld on the wear spot to tighten the loader it took up a little slop but it is Loose.

Hi

My 430 has some slop in it also. I have about 75 hours on it and have had no problems. I imagine that a fair amount of play is designed into the system.

I have noticed a tendency for the left mount post to move more. I have thought about fabricating a bracket that clamps around the post, since I do not remove the loader.

Your dealer should be able to look at it, or compare to another on the lot to see if yours is unusual.

No, you are not being too picky. I have a 430 loader which has always been a bit loose at the right side mount. After the tractor got to 1100 hours, the slop became annoying. Adjusting the loader didn't solve the problem.

I measured both sides and discovered that the opening in the right side mast was 3/16th bigger than the left side. I doubt that this difference was entirely the result of wear. Most likely, it was delivered that way.

Had I discovered the size difference when the loader was new, I suspect that Deere would have replaced the mast under warranty.

I ended up welding a couple of pieces of 3/16th plate to the right side mount on the tractor. No more slop and no more clank when I hit a bump.

By all means, ask the dealer to address the problem. If the slop is the result of a larger opening on one side of the mast, ask that the mast to be replaced with one that fits the mount.
