What is the flow on this model of tractor? Is it less than 5 GPM?

5.1 GPM for my 4110, and I think (99.9%) that the 4100 is the same.

Just make sure you get it with the power beyond sleeve.

They are going to plumb it like I did mine, as the last valve in the circuit so no PB sleeve is needed at this time.

KennyD,

They did obtain the Power Beyond kit and that makes me happy because they were not sure it was still available.

GaryM -

Do you happen to know the item number for the Power Beyond kit that your dealer got for you? I have a 4400 and am interested in adding remotes also, but my dealer told me that they did not believe that this kit was still available. They are going to check, but if I could provide them the number, that would save some time. JDParts says that the part number is no longer valid.

Can anyone confirm that the 4100 and 4400 would use the same PB kit?

Thanks for any help.

Yep from what I remember they were the same for both units.

I don't know the part number. But I did confirm that they had the parts in stock before I ordered my hydraulic toplink from Mark at CCM. I called him yesterday and have it on the way. We spoke about the sidelink and I need to take some measurements of the clevis end and send that along. Mark said the clevis ends are custom fabricated for most applications.

I can assure you that the 4100 and 4400 do not use the same kit.
According to JDParts though, the PB kit for the 4400 is #LVB25221. You will have to order it through a salesman, not the parts counter.

Since we are talking in the same family of tractors. I asked my JD dealer last Sat. the PN and price on a PB kit for my 4300. Price was just under $300. I will check the number against the others when I find the card I wrote it on.
Have not asked the service guy about the install cost yet though.
My understanding was the PB kit is the hard part. Once it is in then should be easy to install a valve on the ROPS and plumb it into the PB for T&T.

Thank you KennyD. I believe that is the number I had found on JDParts as well - I will talk to my salesman this weekend.

I received my hydraulic top link from Mark at CCM late last week. Sure is pretty. But it's BLUE! I might repaint it GREEN to match my 4100.

Now waiting to hear from the dealer about scheduling to Power Beyond and valve installation.

OK, the task is complete!

I now have four rear hydraulic QDs on my 4100. And two valves of course. I had sent photos of KennyD's install to my dealer so they'd have a good idea of what I wanted.

They picked up the tractor on Monday and brought it back on Friday. I went on Saturday so they could make up the hoses for the cylinder I bought from Mark at CCM.

This photo is from the rear and shows the QD female couplings.

This shows the front of the valve with one of the levers attached. The dealer broke one tring to bend it for more seat clearance. It's now in place.

Looks an awful lot like KennyD's doesn't it? That's not a bad thing as he did a wonderful job on his. And he did it himself too.

I like it a lot as I can make adjustments on the box blade while in motion. I was out this evening working on our gravel road and it's a wonderful thing.:)

I do find that it's esay to hit the lever with my elbow and have the cylinder move when I didn't intend it to. :( Little bit of a lesson I need to learn.

I'll have to add a tilt cylinder in the future. Already thinking that now that I have 'extra' hydraulic outlets I could add a grapple, or operate a 3 point log splitter, or operate a dump bed wagon, or....

I do have a confession though. I was reversing the location or the pilot valve on the cylinder to gain more hose clearance against the tractors frame and cross threaded the banjo fitting. Now it leaks like a sieve, but the rear of the tractor will never rust. I guess I'll need to order another cylinder from Mark as I don't think it can be repaired.

At least I got to play with it for a while before I discovered the problem.
