PowerTrac 1850, Kubota RTV x900
Well, it was completely stupid. Completely... I was putting gravel on the road, was backing up, looking over my shoulder going "fast" and out of the corner of my eye I see the wire loose on my lightbar. Well, like a woman in a diamond store I glommed onto that shiny thing and promptly drove the tractor off the edge of the road. It is super steep (photo does not do it justice). It took a moment to get the seat out of my crack, and then I did the walk of shame to the neighbors house and he brought his 3/4 ton with a winch and we had some fun pulling it out. We had to do 2 pulls, pulling from the front and back to get it up on the road. Fun times. But if I had been on a regular tractor I would have had a serious rollover.

No way to drop the bucket and curl your way forward, huh?

Last winter I got my truck stuck twice on the same corner. The same neighbor rescued me. Even got one getting stuck on video. Right at the beginning of this one.

It seems like you'd have to try really hard to roll that one over. I'm glad you weren't hurt.

Um... not an actual idiot. More like an "idiot savant" or wise idiot. Wise because you had sense enough to stop before you made it worse and go get some help while it was relatively easy to get you out. It could have been worse. As for the distraction, well you could have been distracted by something a BIT more worthwhile. Like a pretty lady in a short skirt for instance... Just saying... :)

Cool machine.

Stupid things like that can be quite fun. Not in the middle of a paying job and nothing broken. Practice for the real thing too, so nothing really wasted. Sometimes the only (easy) way you find out what works and what doesn't.

Thank you! I don't feel so bad now to see i have company. Glad you sorted it out. My wife still laughs about pulling me out situations i've gotten myself into.

Whats that machine look like when it's not in a ditch?

Finally somebody I can relate too! :)

Glad you got it out without incident and nobody was hurt. I had my "idiot reminder" a few weeks before Christmas when I rear-ended someone. Not a hard hit, nobody hurt and in fact the hittee's truck was undamaged. My Honda was not damaged very badly at all. While not hurt, the incident embarrassed and frightened me to near death. For all of the lecturing I do about distracted driving, I was looking at the radio display when I should have had my eyes on the road.

Its complciated. Notice the two wheels up in the air (front and back)? My tractor is fully Hydraulic and when you get wheels up in the air like this it is pretty much game over. On top of it there is a lot of weight in the rear, if I had bucketed up the rear probably would have come around as we are on super slick clay. Would have been Mr. Toads wild ride to the bottom.

Hey, do you still like that air seat?

No special reason on the treads. I have multiple spares and when a tire goes on the direction is sometimes off. Doesn't seem to really make much of a difference with this machine.

The V5400 Michigan air seat on my Ferris mower, yes. Way better than expected. I tried to make a Sears suspension seat fit into my tractor and failed due to a lack of headroom (that's on the same video I posted). A Michigan seat would fit into the tractor though. And for the RZR probably just going to bit the bullet and purchase a PRP GT3 or XE seat.

Ever meet one of those sad individuals that has an excuse for everything that happens to them? That Ravine never should have been there in the first place! They don't even realize they are doing it.

Well, if you can catch it on video, you can put it on you-tube, and make some money if you crash spectacularly enough.. gotta think these things out. :)

Reminds me of your typical ZT on a hill side.

Glad you are ok. It is amazing how a very steep slope can look flatter than it is on camera. Maybe plant a few 6 by 6 posts there for a safety rail?
