More than one generator.

If you live off grid as we do on Mallorca and rely on a Chinese clone generator (5000 watt) for heavier loads like washing and welding , you need at least one extra generator. I have learned that from experience and have a gasoline generator as a backup. It is only 3000 watts but can drive our shallow well pump (900 watts) to fill our irrigation tanks.
I plan to buy an diesel inverter generator (6-7000 watts) to get a cleaner sinus waveform for TV and computer.

Were not off grid but a recent 4 days w/o power wind store proved I
wasn't so stupid after all. My house was all lit up and I was online while
others were trying to buy up any generator they could find at the home
centers.

People driving by at night would slow to real slow and MARVEL at my
house, all lit up, like it was a miracle, surrounded by blackness ... hehehehe

The camper has a genset, I have a Yamadog 3300 and a Honda mini, wait,
I also have a 4000 it was not running at the time, I got it
serviced and now it runs, taught me a lesson to keep stuff runnin' it did!
I was down to 3 generators! :laughing: Believe it.

I tossed the "nice" neighbor a cord after day one. The jerks, well, there
jerks.
