The relief catridges are in the variable volume piston pump (tram pump). There is one for the forward and reverse circuit. If you look at the end of the pump, you will see them opposite the forward and reverse circuits, looks like bolt heads. Not sure what there are set at though.

Ok. then there is no relief valve in the wheel motors themselves?

Here is a serious of pics of the stubborn stump I remove while the PT was in the new low speed 4 motor parallel mode. I had to operate differently but was still able to do the job and keep wheels from spinning enough to carry the very heavy stump off. I would say by the way the pt wanted to pucker it weighted from 800 to 1000 lbs.

Kind of unorthodox but until the hole digger was used I didn't think I was ever going to get it out. I had been trying to use the mini hoe and bucket but was getting nowhere. I thought if I could just get under the thing. Then it came to me. I am sure I am not the first to do this but it was a first for me.

The whole digger dug through root and dirt. I got stuck several times but I just jerked it out with the Pt. Sometimes with the bit still trying to run and sometimes with it off. It didn't seem to matter. The hole digger amazed me on this job. It just had its way with the stump and turned a hard job into one of pleasure.

To move the stump while in the low speed mode I did need to let a little of the weight of the stump hit the ground as to keep the rear wheels from spinning. It was not much trouble to do that though.

Ingenious use of the PHD, Stray. That constitutes the first good argument I have comes across for buying a PT PHD instead of a 3PH model for those of us that have both a PT and a CUT. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do that with my 3PH PHD.

Thanks guys. I only have a 9 inch and a 12 inch auger. I usually keep the 9 on the PHD and that is what was used. Also I will point out that the 9 inch is the OEM and I had sharpened the tips on a previous job. I believe this helped much. I could actually see wood chips coming out with the dirt.
