After much deliberation, I've decided on a JD 4110. It'll cost me about $1200 more than a Kubota 7610 (which has 3HP more) but the JD seemed to have a much smoother ride. I really liked the positional control on the 3PH and the controls seemed to be laid out better. I should be getting it in about a week!

Congratulations on your choice. After studying specification sheets to death you still have to feel good seated in the drivers position.
Deere ergonomics has me leaning their way also. I'm 6'2" and find Deere to be the most comfortable (comfort meaning control positions also). They seem to have a very well set up work station.

Best of Luck, /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've been working on that actually. Here are some thoughts...

Mike_JD4110
JD4110_Mike

or should I leave out the make/model altogether?

Whatever name you want to choose is great unless someone else is already using it! Congratulations on your selection of a new tractor. I hope you'll have loads of happy seat time! John

It's finally here!!! I've had 3 hours on it and it is fantastic!!!
Here are some pics...

My wife saw me clearing underbrush in the woods and her very first comment was "that thing is f---ing awesome!!!". I couldn't agree more. My friend drove it for about 30 minutes and said that the clearing that he'd just done would have taken a day to do by hand...

I know some are going to ask, the toothbar (which is AWESOME) was installed by my dealer (I don't know who made it) as were the two hooks.

I've got some questions about it that I'll be asking in the JD forum, but much thanks to everyone who helped me make the decision. And anyone who is still deciding, don't worry so much about what color your tractor is - Like everyone keeps saying, get on one and drive it and talk to the dealer. This tractor just seemed right when I drove it (after driving several others). The more important question for newbies like me should be what size tractor and what features are important....

Congratulations on the new tractor. I think your observation on how it felt right is right on target and probably the main reason some of us love a particular machine. That is how I feel about my NH, and while I like my other tractors and while all are great machines, the little NH is just right for me. I can't say I'd feel that way about a different model of the same brand!!! You made the right choice for you, and that is the critical issue.

But I think you should keep your screen name!!!

Already changed it to "MikeFromVA" once it gets administrative approval - why keep the old one when I now have a tractor???

Congratulations! That sure is a nice one. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif After viewing another thread with a 2210 pulling a building on a trailer, that machine is quite the brutus! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
