I personally believe you already have a great tow vehicle. The V10 engine does a great job of towing and the maintenance is much cheaper. Durability for that engine has been great. I certainly would not trade that V10 in on a 6.0.

the 2007 models also have the 6.0 in them as well as the 6.4.....the 6.0 handles both USLD and Non USLD, but that will be less of an issue when all the old stock is used up. The later releases of the 6.0 2004/2005 and later have been rock solid and corrected of earlier issues IMHO....
6.0 has globs of power to spare - handles 6 yards of wet soil and a loaded trailer without even straining

Sorry, again, just a little more info/clarification..
The '07 ony has the 6.0L and can run both fuels. The 6.4L is an '08 model with '07 emissions and can only run ULSD primarily because of the DPF.. The '07 body would not hold the 6.4L.

Also,I dont have the numbers, but I've been told that the warranty numbers on the '06 was better than the '02 7.3L. If I didnt believe the source, I wouldnt even think of putting it here...

I have owned fords and they were good trucks. I still have my 85 ford F350 4x4 with the 460 it is an awesome truck but lacking in creature comforts. I have an 06 duramax and so far it has been a really good truck I like the duramax it is pretty quiet and the allison is nice and smooth. To the best of my knowledge Chevrolet has not come out with the new diesel yet for the 07 standards. If you buy a new chevrolet with a diesel they lable it as a 2007 classic and you are still getting the 06 engine.

I understand the fix that they have to put in the engine on the new ford. I really would be uncomfortable if I was spending that kind of money for a truck and I saw words like " A driver should have plenty of time to get off of a bridge or overpass to pull over to the side of the road. Should have plenty of time is not really very specific. If you are on a short bridge doing 75 miles an hour it does not take long. If you are on a large bridge span and in stop and go traffic you might have a problem. I also do not like them not saying how long it should take to cool down I know weather plays a big part but maybe numbers on a 70 degree day for instance. I do not think my boss would like it if I called up and said I am going to be an hour late I have to wait for my truck to cool down before I can drive it. Especially if it happens more than once. I would also worry about having at least a few vehicles that have problems that created a leak getting into the exhaust system And as one poster said what if you are pulling a big trailer. I would hate to be crossing a large mountain pass that did not have a pullover spot and have the engine start losing power.

GM has a the new emission diesel (LMM) in the new body style and they are starting to hit showrooms. There was no ducumented internal changes to the engine only bolt on items (Injectors, EGR cooling, Exhaust, Computer Programming, Some shanges to the turbo.)

Don't forget the particulate removal system installed in the exhaust under the truck. That was the main change, otherwise it's just about identical to the LBZ. The particulate trap is what's causing all the problems in the Ford.

I have an '07 classic (see my pictures) and it's amazingly quiet & strong. The allison transmission is a transmission lover's dream!

OK...now I watched the video... but did you LISTEN to the pickup? You can tell by listening to it that the thing has issues. Not to mention you cannot see the whole vehicle...at least not in the bit that I watched... All you can tell is that it's a Ford pickup... nothing else.

OK.. I did go back and watch the whole thing.. eventually you CAN tell it is a SuperDuty... but nothing more than that....

That is also a dvcam mic and they pretty much suck. You could never rely on some omnidirectional $2 mic for accuracy. Sorry.
