Snipe hunting is a popular passtime here in Michigan as well. Whenever we have Boy Scout District or Council camp-o-rees in southern Michigan, the Order of the Arrow guys will put a bounty on the ever elusive "blue-billed" snipe. In northern Michigan the "yellow-tailed" snipe is known to lurk in the woods. Both are very rare, very clever, and tough to even catch a glimpse of. I've seen new Scouts out wandering the "known" snipe nesting areas for hours trying to snag one. Also, anybody ever used a smoke bender?
