More Winter??

Up here in Vermont we have snow snakes.
Deadly little critters and there skin is snow white.
You never see them untill it is to late and your on
your butt in the snow. They arrived here from Maine
and the only know cure is Peach Brandy!!!
A vaccination about once a month increases your
chances of survival. But if you are outside and around
a campfire several vaccinations are recommended.
Driving after vaccination is prohibited!!!!! /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif Campfires
attract snowsnakes so be extremely aware!!!!!!
Have a great day,
Al
P.S. A good cup of Navy strength coffee will also
work but don't expect to sleep for a night or two./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Go Navy!!!!!

I haven't griped about our summers the last couple years because the winters were really nice. After all the ice and snow we've had this year I plan to gripe plenty if we have to put up with another hot summer. I'm predicting a nice summer with just a few days over 100 and rain just when we need it. How's that for an optimist./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I was planning on scalping my lawn this weekend and fertilizing but it is just too wet with more rain on the way.

I'm familiar with snow snakes. Having been a Boy Scout leader for a lot of years, I've seen more than a few young Scouts try and hunt down snow snakes for some fantastic reward during winter camping trips. Never had a Scout capture one, but have had lot's of fun being part of the hunt. We always had to settle for Scout camp coffee, which I'm sure is comparable to Navy coffee in many ways.

We're camping in a couple of weeks up around Clare, MI, so I guess we'll have to send a contingent out to seek the elusive snow flea now as well as the crafty snow snake.

We also have a lot of the mile-or-more birds here in Arkansas. I have never seen one, but they stick their bills down in the gumbo mud and whistle through their butts!! and you can hear them for a mile or more!

Jim, when I was reading about the snow snakes and snow fleas, snipe hunting is what I was thinking of, too. Didn't know whether that had been heard of outside Texas and Oklahoma./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Yep Bird, going snipe hunting is a right of passage for 13 year olds here in Arkansas.
