Sorry, I still don't get the strong connection for a sports team to a City, when the Players are not even from there. Then just cheer for your favourite team (name) , but leave geography out of it.

Just so many common things I don't GET, I guess.

I only mention it in this contest because I see a relationship to tractors. Labels and geography mean less and less but the strong perceptions remain, now quite outdated.

Your over thinking it. Just because you work out of a city doesnt mean you have all players from that city working on the team or the team name has anything to do with city. Forget the industry think of any other company, many have names that dont relate to the city they are in and employ people that arent from there either. Sports teams are going to be more diverse in their populace because there is a smaller amount of top talent. Take for instance in the MLB there might only be 300 starting pitchers in the world that are quality enough at any given point to be on a team, each team has say 10. You couldnt just limit yourself to talent in that instance

I am just guessing, that at some point, the players were mostly from a particular city. Or at least from that area. I had a friend here close by, that played on the Maple Leafs a very long time ago, yet he grew up and lived in a small town a hundred miles away from Toronto. But he didn't go play for Detroit. I think, that would be unheard of. I could be very wrong.

To me, it would be like a school team having players from another school. If you don't have the talent, well than you just don't, and maybe you should do something else or improve.

A good many of us on here would love to buy American products, the reality is that it痴 really not possible any longer. I知 sad about that, but I also own a lot of nice products that were made elsewhere. My income is generated from making parts on high end Japanese machine tools. There just isn稚 an American equivalent.

There aren't any US made CUTS. They are all assembled here, because they are knocked down for more compact shipping. But there are a lot of US made implements. They're generally better quality than Chinese imports. Often the price is not that much more. Especially for things like box blades and rotary cutters. The economics for making implements is different enough from machinery that it's still possible to do it. (see Everything Attachments for one example).

Not long ago some import CUTS were paired with US made loaders and/or backhoes. I don't think that is as common now, and it can often be hard to find out as the loaders and backhoes get branded.

There was a loader plant here in Grimsby Ontario. I believe it had a strike, and is now gone. But now it is a parts facility, even supplying parts to the US.

There was a time, even when the loader plant was operating, I believe, that out local dealer was selling Alo (Quickie) loaders, over the JD loader, probably to be more competitive. I also know, that they were selling HORST buckets and attachments over the JD made ones, for the same reason. Kind of sad.

Yeah I dont this is pro sports not HS sports people dont pay money to watch local talent. You might be right 100 years ago, even Babe ruth wasn't from Boston or NYC. Your talking about billion dollar companies they have to put the best talent on the field and that simply doesnt exists in one city

If pro teams only drew from local crowds doubtful the sports business would be as successful or even exist. A lot of college sports players are from all over. I had uncles play in the 60s at colleges in other states.

I guess I dont get the confusion on this.
