"Most" American-built Compact Tractor....

I researched my post earlier, and Kubotas and JD compacts and sub compacts are from Georgia. Without a doubt some or all of the power train comes from Japan or else where. I had a BX tractor for 10 years and I'm pretty sure the loader was made in the US. Even US made stuff had a lot of foreign content. New vehicles even have a list of the amount of US made parts and where is was put together.

I guess the next question does it matter where a Kubota or Kioti is "made" or "assembled", what ever that means? For that matter does it matter where a Toyota is "made". Most of them could be considered Made in America. Where do the parts come from? All over the world. Some Chevy's are made in America. My Chevy truck was made in Ft. Wayne In. Were did the parts come from ? All over. I put two Yaesu radios in my "Made in America" truck. They were made in Japan, from parts from all over the world. Including the USA. Does that make my Chevy less "Murican?". The Antenna was wholly made in North Carolina. Does that help? :)

A good many of us on here would love to buy American products, the reality is that it’s really not possible any longer. I’m sad about that, but I also own a lot of nice products that were made elsewhere. My income is generated from making parts on high end Japanese machine tools. There just isn’t an American equivalent.

No not really. Frankly I think the idea of buying made in america is great and economic wise make sense in a way. But reality is just because its made here doesnt mean its better, or because its not made here doesnt mean its not any good, what determines that often times is is what spec for material and build all together. Fact is if you took something and built it in the US and say China or Mexico using the same specs in like factories, chances are there would be zero difference in quality.

Its a global economy, and second if everything was made here nobody could afford it. The real issue is trade imbalance

I wouldn’t want an American made tractor if they made one. It would almost certainly be inferior to a Japanese or German built one.

It does to me...

Take china for instance: Not everything made in china is poorly made, but MUCH of it is, so I try to put my money where I have the "best chance" of getting a better product.

It's a global economy, folks. :confused3:

Don't accept this crap answer. Our politicians have sold us out many times over. We must retain and maintain the ability to manufacture durable goods-machines specifically. We can not be reduced to a service economy.

Do not continue to accept that bulls$%@ answer "it's a global economy ".

Elect politicians that understand this.

I have a 5HP (163CC) Honda engine which I bought from Northern Tool for my water pump... I have a 6 1/2 HP (212CC) Predator engine on my Troybilt which I picked up at Harbor Freight. The first cost me 289$, the latter was 119$. They both are virtually identical, the biggest difference is that one is made in China, the other is made in Taiwan.

I don’t think that it is the politicians. Unfortunately, I think it is you and me that insist on cheap consumer goods. I think it is good old fashion competition by 3rd world countries that are not on a level playing field. At this point it is hard to even attempt to boycott foreign goods. I do try, and lately i’m Trying to just pick my battles and boycott China.
