Yep! Well, it looks like the gauntlet has been thrown. It'll be fun to see if Dougster can match that. I think I better just sit tight, that's a HUGE barn!
Mama Mia!!! That barn is bigger than my whole yard!!! The taxes alone on something like that here in Taxachusetts would absolutely break the bank.

The lesson here??? NEVER try to match building sizes with a guy in the steel construction industry!!! :(

Come on Mega-Millions... Come on Mega-Millions... :D

Dougster,
Now you know what I do for a living. You know what sort of resources I have available.
You know what a couple of thirty packs can get you in the construction industry.

I was saving this for a month long project spread, but now you've gone and made me do it.

I give ya a look at what you have to build bigger than. :D Like I said build for what you think you might need down the road, not what you need today. :)

Buy the way I think I will be able to fit SEVERAL tractors in this.

I wanna see that project spread! I was looking at building plans yesterday. That's awesome. I'd never be in the house if I had a place like that.

Forget the cost of the taxes on that thing... just having a mamoth building like that would create a void in your life, a space that would have to be filled... filled with lots of really big toys! :) I do agree, you'd need some other basics like a refirgerator and bathroom, maybe a cot and a mailbox. Yep, I'd be living in there too.

It is a nice looking building isn't it. I have to fess up here folks. I don't have that building in the yard. It's just that Doug threw down the challange and I felt the need to bring him to his knees. :D

I am in the design and procurment stages right now for the barn/garage I will be building. You see first I procure what materials I can from vendors and left overs on jobs, then I go home and design what I can out of the material. Right now I have the bar joists, and decking for the second floor. The quanity and length of the barjoists determined that the building will be 30 x 60. The framing to support all this is tube steel columns and beams. The shop is working on fabrication when they have time. The first floor cieling height is going to be 14 foot clear. Thats as far as the design stage has gotten so far. I am still dreaming up what kind of roof line to put on the thing. As things start to come together I will start a thread and share the progress.

Now Dougster have no doubts that if I indeed wanted to the building pictured would be standing in the back yard. Rember my motto, Go Big or Die.

The only thing with that particular building would be If I went that big the GF would look at the plans and say "Go that big and you will Die !!!!

Tim I agree with you. I would never go in the house again. Not sure what kind of layout you were looking at, but the barn in the picture really offers it all. Small areas off to the sides, and high ceiling down the middle. It would really make a great garage/barn/work shop.

I just ordered a 4ft rear mount finish mower (Sitrex) for my 1815.
I should have it in a couple of weeks.
I'm looking forward to trying it out.
The tractor has a tight turning radius so it should work well.
