I've been thinking about your altitude issue but haven't come up with anything yet.

Th eRTV's climbing ability is only limited by its tires.. I boltin a set of mut lites and proceded to climb a MUD hill that I could not walk up.. With 2 people aboard.. NO problem at all. I also retunely tow a 3500 trailer up a hill wit 2 aboard.. Try that with a mule.. Also the hydrostatic trans is a dream going down hill with a load.. The wet brakes will last the life of the vehicle..

Brakes??? Oh yea, that's that other pedal. With the speed control assemblies we have, I never need the brake. Steep hills or flat ground. I know mine should last forever.

While i haven't driven the mule with a diesel i did drive a mule 610. i drove the thing and found it to be a GUTLESS overpriced piece of metal.
I told the salesman it drove and rode like it was already wore out!
I would no doubt buy a RTV over the mule anyday!
now i am looking at a rhino while i haven't driven one i have seen much more favorable stuff on it than a mule.

I think kawasaki had better rethink it's product if it going to stay in the utility line!

Thanks for the welcome. It took me awhile to find this place. I like it.

I dont know what to do about the 9000 foot issue. I think I am going to lose some power but I dont know how much. I think if I open up the air flow I can minimize it.

You are right about tires. They make a big difference in anything you drive
I have used tracks for most of the winter. Those can pull. I am back to stock tires right now and next week I am going ice fishing for the week so I am going to put on my Essex 27" 589's. There is not enough snow for tracks right now in my area so the 589's should be just fine. I think everyone thats looking at a Mule should drive and buy a RTV. I cannot say enough good stuff about the Kubota. They are great.

Well this has certainly turned out to be a very Positive RTV900 Thread ( glad it has finely evolved as I was becoming a one-man band banging my drum on other sites!!)

THE 9000' ALTITUDE QUANDARY ---I'm afraid any normally aspirated engine of any stripe or color will suffer greatly unless you own one of these!

I think you are right. I am going to go to Wyoming with my RTv and my Tatou tracks. I guess I will take it easy and have as much fun as I can.

Did have the pleasure of commanding two units (18 each) of this heavy lifter, still think it is the most amazing complicated machine yet built by man!!
