Snow Blade mounting a snow blade on a front end loader

/ mounting a snow blade on a front end loader #21
If anyone is looking for some good info on mounting a plow on the front end loader, feel free to ask away. I have looked everywhere and researched a ton of different options. What I have come up with is in my opinion the most useful, cost effective, and easy to find parts.

I used this to mount to the quick attach system on my tractor (LS XR4140HC): Three Point Adapters - Quick Tach Attachments - Tractor Attachments

I bought a local Diamond Trip Edge Plow for the 1980's or 1990's, solid heavy quality steel unit ( You can also use a Fisher Plow): Diamond Edge | Trip Edge Snow Plows | Meyer

A few CAT2 pins, some chain, and other some items you can put it all together. Using all these parts allows thew plow to float using the chain system like a truck would and not use the force of the loader to control the plow.

I ran hydraulic lines from my rear controls to angle the plow left to right. I used a crossover release valve to limit any damage if anything is hit with the plow.

Drew,

Do you have any additional pics that show more detail on how you put this together?

Here are links to my plow mods (same tractor as yours). Originally I made it rigid frame to the QA plate. The blade has its own trip edge.

I later modified it to make the blade float like it would if mounted on a truck. See posts 7 and 18 for pics.

Thanks George. I will take a look at these posts when I have a few minutes. I am not capable of welding and fabricating. I am much better at following instructions...

I have a kioti ck 30 and am considering putting on a quick attach 8 ft blade.. dealer doesnt recommend this as he says can damadge loader arms ,,, anyone here have any prob;ems

tks

Back in the early 1980's, FEL plows were all but unheard of on compact tractors due to possible loader arm damage. Ignoring my dealers advice I built one for my little Kubota B7100 from an old 6 1/2 ' Western plow I took off a wrecked jeep. It was amazing what that little 17 HP tractor would do in the snow! After using it for 3 seasons, I noticed cracks forming in the welds on the loader arms. I re welded them and used the setup for another 2 seasons before selling the tractor to a friend. As far as I know, he's still using it.

Newer compact tractor FELs are designed for use with plows and many companies sell them. Although I can't speak for your CK 30, I used FEL plows on my Kubota L3010 and L3430 without any problems. I still use them on my L6060 and MX5800 as well. As others have mentioned, using a spring trip mulboard and crossover relief valve are a good idea. In my experience, tire chains, at least on the front, are also a great help.

I didn't have to weld anything with my setup, and the plow detaches from the 3pt plat quick and easy so it can be used for other functions.

I also grooved my tires. I've been plowing in 2wd
