Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Moved in excess of 18 inches of snow

Just spent 1-1/2 hours 'plowing' with the fel. We got just over 12" here last night and I'm just glad it wasn't too windy. The largest drift we have is on the back deck - about 3 feet.

Just another day in New England

I also used my FEL to clear my driveway and an elderly neighbors. A little over an hour of seat time. The Farmington CT area only got around 5 or 6 inches with higher and lower areas due to the wind and drifting. The forcast was calling for 8 - 12 so we were on the low side. I heard a report this morning of 19 inches in some areas of CT. The highest amounts were in South Eastern CT.

ya know.. I wonder if the global warmin has a cooling and snow phase?

perhaps the extra snow phase is nature way of trying to correct it self.

Back in the 70s the scientists were warning of global cooling. The weather service called for about 5 degree below normal temps for much of the US this winter. Looks like they were right.

We have right at 17" in Brandywine, MD. It stopped snowing at about 11:15 last night. This is the biggest December fall in a looong time. Dad plowed about 1/4mi of driveway yesterday, and in a little over an hour, there was and inch covering where he cleared. It didn't take him long, just about an hour, and he's out again, now.

We only got 8" here near Hershey, PA, and its still bigger than ANY snow we had last year. In fact, we only got about a TOTAL of 8" last year.

Lucky! We only got a total of about 1.5" last year. We don't get much snow at all...this is totally unlike our area.

Well, I got outside at about 11:15 this morning. We got about 1'+ down here in La Plata. Took me until about 2:15 pm, to shovel the sidewalk and concrete pads around the house, as well as clear off two 3/4 ton vehicles. After that I started on the driveway, and worked on that until about 4. I only got the upper half done as I couldn't stand to be out there any longer, my hands were getting too cold, I'll finish the hill and lower part of the driveway in the morning. Got about an hr and a half worth of tractor time. Also realized I need to come up with a better way of clearing snow off the driveway, particularly one that keeps me from skimming a layer of gravel off in the process.

I'm with you on this problem. I have recycled asphalt on my driveway and without the ground being frozen before the snow, I skimmed off way too much asphalt using my FEL.

We measured 25 1/2" last night before bed, and it was just tapering off. During the night it settled some and droped almost an inch by morning to 24 1/2". Takes forever to clear my drive. Although it's only around 250' the parking area at the top, steep hill, and lack of a place to put it caused it to take sever hours of pushing, sliding, and plowing. My road hasn't been plowed yet either. Looks to dangerous to drive to work tomarrow. I'll clear some more tomarrow. If we got snow like this more regularly, I'd invest in a snowblower.
